It’s that time of year for reflection and resolution making.
Last year in New Year, New Resolutions I detailed my goals for both the Pets Blog and animal/pet related personal goals. Now it’s time to see how I did.
Pets Blog Goals
These were my goals:
• To continue promoting the importance of being kind, considerate, and compassionate to the animals we share this Earth with.
• To feature more organizations dedicated to animals, be they ones helping animals or training animals to help others.
• To feature pet friendly activities that the whole family can enjoy.
• To emphasize the lighter side of life with animals and how endearing their antics can be.
I’d say with blogs like Mother Ocean Day 2007: Respecting Her Creatures, Happy World Turtle Day, National Wildlife Day: How You Can Help I did pretty good on the first one.
Same with the second one. I present the following examples as evidence: Dollywood is for the Birds (Among Other Things), The Elephant Sanctuary, and Assistance Dogs of the West and the Lessons They Teach.
I didn’t do too good with the third one.
I scored big on the last one. It was the easiest! I just used Murphy, Mr. Meow, and Tabby’s many antics for fodder. e.g. The Case of the Christmas Present Caper, Mr. Meow Meets His Match, or any of the Chaotic Cat Chronicles.
Personal Goals
This is what I set out to accomplish in my personal life:
• Spend more time playing with Murphy and Kitty.
• Put my spending dollars to work helping animals by getting a Chase Credit Card, either a ASPCA Platinum Visa Card, a Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Platinum Visa Card, or a World Wildlife Fund Platinum Visa Card.
• Make it a point to click more frequently on the purple button at the Animal Rescue Site. (I try to remember daily, but sometimes I forget.)
I certainly did try to spend as much time as possible playing with those two…as well as the new addition who came along! (I think A Very Meowy Christmas sums that all up purrrfectly.)
Because I thought we were moving, I put off doing the second one. But it worked out. After the research I did on charities, I decided I wanted a World Wildlife Fund card. (Bonus: I got to choose between a panda, whale, or tiger on the front. I went with the tiger to show my solidarity with their strife.)
I completely failed on this one. I think I’ve clicked three times in the last 12 months. Pathetic.
