Teaching Kids Art Through Media

Our society today focuses more and more on teaching children about culture, science, and art. Children love art, which usually begins while quite young, scribbling on paper. With today’s media games, we can take those scribbles, turning them into more. We now see a number of excellent programs designed specifically on art, making it fun while also teaching.

One such program is called The Kids Collection, which is actually a collection of six computer games focusing on children. This particular art game is exciting and loaded with offers for creativity. For instance, children can go to the Sim Theme Park where they can design and create their very own theme park. Then, there is LEGO Soccer Mania, allowing your child to customize a team, while challenging the opposing team.

The LEGO Island Xreme Stunts is a favorite area of this game, filled with five, action packed stunt games. Other exciting areas of The Kids Collection game include Sim Town, Sim Coaster, and Sim Safari. First released in the fall of 2003, this game has been a huge success for children of all ages, as well as for adults.

Another game cited by professionals that gives children excellent involvement with art in the form of the game camera is Nintendo’s Mario 64. The game camera is actually the player’s shadow. Therefore, players will have the option of centering the camera so it is behind Mario, thus making important observations about the game strategy but from his point of view. Other features include zoom in and out, rotating camera angle, panoramic vies, and more.

Then, both The Sims and Pokemon Snap are wonderful games that give children the opportunity to experiment with photography. With Pokeman, players go on a photo safari with the task of snapping candid shots of various characters. Once the photos have all been collected, Professor Oak rates them, which is based on a number of set rules that teach players the best way to take a great photograph. As you can see, these games are not only fun but educational as well.

With The Sims, the children would be able to capture different screenshots from the game. With this, photography is introduced into the game. In fact, family stories can be submitted so members of the family are then transported to other players. This game focuses on taking the creation of art in the game world to an entirely different level.
