Ten MORE Things to do With Essential Oils

1. Make your own potpourri. Gather dried flowers, pinecones, dried leaves, whatever you like! Arrange them in a bowl, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, and stir. You will need to add more oil occasionally to refresh the scent. Try orange and cinnamon for a nice fall scent, or lemon and lavender for spring freshness.

2. Clear kitchen odors easily! If you can boil water, you can fill your home with your favorite scents. Fill a small pot with water and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Heating the water will release the scent to clear out cooking odors, or just give your house a fresh scent.

3. Calm a nervous child with the scent of chamomile. Put a drop on their pillowcase and let it soak in, or make a spray with 4oz water and 2-4 drops of chamomile essential oil. (If your child is afraid of monsters in the night, you can call the spray “Monster Repellant!”)

4. Got mice? Put a few drops of peppermint oil on cotton balls and tuck them into the cracks and corners. Mice don’t like the scent!

5. Add the power of natural bug repellant to your lotions and sunscreen. Mix in a few drops of eucalyptus, lemon, and lavender oils for natural insect protection!

6. Soothe tired feet with a peppermint foot soak. Fill a basin with warm water and add a few drops of peppermint essential oil.

7. Put two drops of eucalyptus or tea tree oil onto a cotton ball and tuck it under your keyboard if you’re stuck at work with a stuffy nose. Works just as well as a cough drop to soothe and clear nasal passages!

8. Stinky shoes or slippers? A drop of geranium oil will neutralize the odors.

9. Need to stay alert on a long drive? Mix up a stimulating spray with 4oz water and a few drops of your favorite citrus scent. Peppermint is a good alertness aid, too.

10. You know those tea light warmers? Put a tea light on the bottom and a drop or two of your favorite essential oil on the top and the heat will make the scent spread.
