Ten Ways To Feel Good…. Right Now

1. Scrap the chair and sit on an exercise ball instead. It will help your posture, reducing discomfort throughout the day. It will also help to evenly distribute your weight while you sit and decrease hip soreness. You can always use it as a birthing ball at the hospital and for exercise after you have the baby.

2. Run a wash cloth under cold water, ring it out and press it into your face if you are feeling flushed.

3. Whatever you are doing, stop and take a five minute break. Put your feet up and sit a cold beverage. Close your eyes and think about nothing.

4. If you are at home, go pants-less. Maternity pants, paneled or not, still dig in sometimes. Throw on an oversize t-shirt or a baggy night gown and relax. Give your belly some breathing room!

5. Lean over the back of a chair rather than sinking back into a couch. It will help your baby to drop out of your rib cage and will make breathing a lot easier.

6. Take a warm bath. If you have a deep soaking tub, it’s even better because the water will make you feel weightless. Make sure the water is not too hot. Light some candles and play soft music for extra relaxation.

7. If you don’t have a deep tub, go swimming instead. You will still experience weightlessness and have fun at the same time. For tips on finding a good swimming suit, check out this article.

8. Indulge in a craving. Just don’t go overboard. Usually a half portion will be enough to satisfy you without making you feel guilty afterward.

9. Have your husband give you a back rub. If necessary, bribe him with his favorite dinner or a movie of his choosing.

10. Add gel inserts to your shoes. The added weight that comes with pregnancy can put quite a bit of strain on your feet. Gel insoles can make your shoes feel a lot more comfortable again.
