T-minus 10 days until Turkey Day.
In my house the adults are running around like decapitated chickens while the kids watch and wonder what all the fuss is about.
If you are hosting pint-sized out-of-town guests like we are, then the following Thanksgiving activities are your ticket to getting little ones to lend a hand.
Who knew that leftover toilet paper rolls, some construction paper feathers and a box of Rice Krispies could turn a Turkey Day buffet into a kid-friendly holiday oasis?
TOILET PAPER TUBE TURKEY
Materials:
Empty roll of toilet paper or paper towel
Red, yellow, and orange construction paper
Googly eyes
Glue
Scissors
Directions:
Cut feather shapes out of the construction paper. You’ll need about 6-10 feathers depending on whether you are working with the toilet paper roll or the paper towel roll.
Cut a small triangle out of orange construction paper for a beak.
Cut a waddle out of red construction paper.
Cut two feet out of orange construction paper.
Glue the feathers onto the back of the empty toilet paper or paper towel roll.
Glue the eyes, beak, waddle, and feet to the front of the roll.
Allow to dry thoroughly before displaying.

Butter your hands and then shape each portion into ball.
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and combine with oil, stir well until mixture is smooth.
