Thanksgiving in Vegas

Not everyone is planning to go over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving dinner this year. Not when they can hit the jackpot in Las Vegas. Right now, the travel deals being dealt in Sin City are beyond phenomenal: Try two nights in Vegas for nothing!

Okay… nearly nothing.

Station Casinos is offering an unprecedented offer to high, low and non-rollers, with room rates that work out to $12.50 a night.

Unbelievable, right?

Here’s how the savings breaks down: You pay $125 for two nights and in return the hotel gives you $100 to spend on food and beverages. At Station’s upscale Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa, you pay $250 for two nights, and you get $200 in credit to use on food, spa services and drinks. Taxes and fees are extra, but still, that’s an unprecedented deal during the holiday season.

And don’t worry about missing out on a decadent Turkey Day spread, The M Resort Spa & Casino in Henderson (located about 10 miles from the Strip) has an award-winning dinner buffet featuring the traditional holiday bird, shrimp, roast beef, ham, and more than 100 other dishes, including tasty desserts such as chocolate souffle. The buffet is just $22.95 Monday to Thursday and it includes unlimited beer and wine, plus espresso spiked with Sambuca or other liqueur. You can get even more bang for your buck by joining the free M players’ club. Doing so will let you pig out at the hotel’s buffets for less than $2 per visit.

Sin City is busting at the seams with fabulous hotel deals through Christmas. The Mirage is marking its 20th anniversary with $86 remodeled rooms. In addition, Treasure Island is offering resort rooms for $69 on select days, and rooms at popular properties such as the Hilton are being offered for less than $50 per night. Super savings can also be found at basic properties such as the Sahara, Circus Circus and Hooters for $20-$30 at off-peak times. But perhaps the best part of these deals is the fact that being in Vegas on Thanksgiving means not having to deal with dysfunctional family members and other holiday drama around the dining room table.
