That All Important Meal

So many of us are rushing around these days. We almost have to really, as we have a lot to do and only so much time to do it in. Although it is difficult we have to stop and eat that meal that so many of us tend to skip each day—breakfast.

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day. It fuels your body as you start your daily routine giving nourishment to your brain cells. People tend to do better at work and children at school when they eat their breakfast. Without breakfast you tend to tire throughout the day more easily and your thinking is not quite as clear as it should be. Many people who diet try to cut some calories by skipping breakfast, but this is not a good idea and not beneficial to your dieting strategy.

Breakfast does not have to be a big fanfare nor a great time consumer. Just eating something as simple as an egg and a small glass of juice or a piece of fruit will suffice. If you are really pressed for time cook up some hard boiled eggs on the weekend and keep them in your refrigerator for a few days supply. You can always grab on apple on the way out the door and eat on the run.

I have been better about this lately. A breakfast rebel in the past, I am learning that I do tend to slow down come mid morning and my stomach feels a little disturbed with just coffee in it. Approximately three times a week now I do eat an egg in the morning. This is in no way a sit down breakfast, but eating on the run, as I get up before the birds. I sometimes grab a cereal bar. Both of these are only about 90 calories so it is not that big of a deal, but at least I have something in my stomach to start my day with.

Remember to fuel yourself each morning, even if only an egg.
