There are always great sales after Christmas. This is where I often gather new items for the next year. So, I’ve decided to make a new list, an after Christmas list, of things I want to pick up at those tremendous sales.
Last year, I was able to obtain some very nice, new Christmas ornaments for mere pennies on the dollar. They were marked down anywhere from 50% to an incredible 90% off the regular price. I found some lovely hand-painted glass ornaments in a variety of styles and colors. My favorite set has four deep green, four deep red, and four white ones with pretty poinsettias painted on them.
This year, I hope to pick up some more ornaments, and I’m going to add a new Christmas tree to my after Christmas list as well. The one we currently have was purchased for 40% off at a post-holiday sale a few years ago. It’s still in decent shape, but it’s a bit large since we now have more and larger furniture in the living room. I’m hoping to find one a little smaller, and perhaps some new Christmas lights that don’t use as much energy.
I’ll donate the tree along with the ornaments I’ve replaced. Some I’ll toss, but those that are still in good shape will go to charity and hopefully someone can make use of them.
While most of our decorations are still in good shape, changing things up a little would be nice. So, I’ll try to find some other decorations on sale too. I have picked up a few new things for this season, but I’ll save most of my shopping until after the holiday.
There are usually some great deals on wrapping paper and Christmas cards and things as well. What will you buy at the after Christmas sales? Are you making an After Christmas List?
