Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and so I have really been enjoying the Home Blog and all of the fun fall stuff that we can write about, especially when it comes to decorating and the Autumn Table.
I have been picking up a lot of great tips from Sherry, such as the one where she explains, “What is a Tablescape?” And you may recall an article I wrote about choosing one of three designs in 3 Natural Autumn Centerpieces. I still don’t know which one to choose, so please leave a comment and help me out.
One new idea that I am definitely going to try for my Autumn Table, no decision needed, is one for these pretty plates. I love two things about this idea. The first is that this design idea is so quick and easy. You can create an entire place setting for the autumn season at the spur of the moment, just minutes before your guests arrive. The second thing I love about this idea is that it isn’t permanent. You aren’t committing yourself to a cupboard full of autumn-theme plates to store for a whole year.
What you’ll need for this project:
White or colored plates (Our everyday set is white, so this idea really works for us)
Clear glass or plastic plates (I like glass because it is elegant and it doesn’t get scratched as easily.)
Autumn leaves (just go out of your front door to find some)
Instructions:
Carefully place your leaves on the top of the white or colored plate in a pretty pattern. Don’t worry about duplicating each plate to look the same. The natural variety of the leaves will make the table fun and interesting.
Next, gently place the clear plate on top of the white or colored plate with its leaves. Try not to disturb your pattern.
That is it! You’ll have a pretty set of plates for your Autumn Table.
