What are the best things to buy on Black Friday? Is it that $40 Blu-ray player or the $100 tablet? Maybe or maybe not, it all depends on what it is that you really want.
If you are looking for high end electronics, or items with a lot of features for a rock bottom price, you might want to skip Black Friday and get your bargains elsewhere in the season.
Black Friday is all about shock value with its prices, especially on electronics. The problem here is that most of these items are off-brand electronics that are usually less sturdy and have less features than the popular name brand products. So, you may find yourself fighting the crowds for a GPS that at the end of the day doesn’t fit your needs. You might be much better off purchasing last year’s model of a better quality system.
There will be some discounts on the newest popular electronics, but instead of discounts, you are likely to get a number of add ons to your purchase, such as free games bundled with your gaming system or credits for free books with your purchase of an e-reader.
Of course, maybe you can get by perfectly well with electronics that are lowered end. For example, you might like an extra computer or television for the kids. Inferior processors or less memory make work just find for kids games or school research, and there is no need to pay more for quality that you won’t use anyway.
There is another group of electronics that we don’t often think about but will actually show some great bargains on Black Friday. If you scout the Black Friday ads, you’ll see what I mean. Small kitchen electronics will be heavily discounted on Black Friday. Fondue pots, chocolate fountains, cookie presses and other items that aren’t used on a regular basis can go for as little at $5 or $10.
