Exercise can be fun as it is rewarding, and the best way to lose weight while improving your overall health is to find a form of workout that you really enjoy and indulging in it as a new hobby. Sometimes swimsuit season is a little too close or a busy schedule forces a more deliberate and intensive plan. Finding the best exercise to lose overall body fat is a good start, but it’s also important to know how to engage in them safely and efficiently to get the best out of your workout time without feeling worse than when you started.
So what are these perfect exercises? Well, as you might expect, there’s no such thing. There are many combinations of the right diet and the right exercise that will have different benefits for different people. Despite the many options available to you, as a general rule a combination of two basic types of workout will allow you to efficiently lose weight while strengthening your entire body. These are weightlifting and cardio training. A steady habit of these two exercises will have you feeling and looking better faster than most other regimens.
The important thing to remember with this routine is to balance between the two. Even women should stick to a medium-intensity weightlifting workout- you’ll be looking slimmer and fitter before you have to worry about any undesirably masculine muscles! Join a gym or get a YMCA membership and find a number of ‘reps’ that you can complete with difficulty- but without feeling like you’re going to die on the last set! Try to match that number on a few different machines (take short breaks in between!) until you can really feel your heart beating. Congratulations! Your metabolism has been kicked into action by the activity and you’ll be burning calories faster all day. And how should you exploit that benefit?
With cardio training! Here’s a chance to get creative and personalize your routine. A wide variety of activities qualify as cardiovascular exercise. If you want to get the most out of that gym membership, the treadmills and stair masters are a simple and convenient option. If you prefer the comfort of home, any of the many popular exercise videos are a cheap and effective way to get a thorough cardio workout. Tae Bo, Tai Chi or plain old Jazzercise can do the trick. Even biking or jogging in your free time is a great cardio workout, as long as you really get your heart pumping while you do it and keep it pumping for about an hour.
Ideally, you should complete your weightlifting and cardio workout three times a week, but even if you find yourself too busy for a full workout, try not to take the day off entirely. Keep the process of your developing body alive, find a few five or ten minute gaps in the day to simply stretch thoroughly or jog around the room or to your next appointment. Don’t break the habit and make it fun and you’ll find many more physical and psychological rewards beyond efficient loss of body fat.
