The Best Fitness Article of December

I added this particular feature a couple of months ago and I have to say, I enjoy reviewing the various articles that I think are among the best of the month and then submitting them to an independent group to give me their opinions. Sometimes, that group includes my fellow writers here at the Families.com, sometimes it includes a few independent readers and more. This month, the articles submitted made for a tough selection, but the top fitness article of December was another new series introduced here at the Fitness Blog.

Dear Heather … We Love to Read the Questions and Answers

The top vote getters were the four Dear Heather columns that made their debut in the month of December. The series began with Dear Heather: I Have a Question, Dear Heather, I was Wondering …., Dear Heather, Do You Trust the Calorie Counter? and finally, our last installment for December: Dear Heather … What Can We Do?.

The series allows readers to ask the questions they need answers to whether it is clarification on a previous blog entry or advice on a vexing problem. I do my best to answer those questions and if I don’t know the answers, I go looking for the answers they need. Periodically, readers send questions and comments through PMs.

We’ve answered questions about the calorie counters on fitness equipment, on weight loss workouts and whether it’s better to do cardio or strength training. We’ve answered questions about running versus walking. We’ve answered questions on gym equipment and fitness options as well as how to get an inactive child up and moving.

The Dear Heather … series will continue into the New Year, with new entries each week that I have the questions to answer. Since it debuted, more readers have submitted their questions and while I cannot answer them all, I do my best to answer them all, so if you have a question – send it in, you may very well see your answer in the next Dear Heather …
