The Best Thing About Being Home-Based—Going to Work With Wet Hair

We often chat here about the things we love best about working at our home-based businesses. It hit me this morning that one of the things I love is that I can go to “work” with wet hair and not only do I not have to worry about anyone seeing me, but I don’t have to be concerned that my “career’’ will be affected by my lack of appropriate grooming.

Now, I confess that I have had a few traditional jobs where I could leave the house with wet hair and not really have to worry about what people might say or think—but these jobs have been few and far between. Most of my traditional work has been quite professional and it was important that I either follow a dress code, or dress in a reasonably professional manner—and wet hair was not considered reasonably professional by anyone’s book.

But, with a home-based business, as long as I am not going out and about to meetings or other work-related events, I can sit down at my desk with wet hair—fresh from the shower or bath—and not have to worry about anything. No blow dryers or hair product or working to make the perfect “do”—just wash and wear. As a matter of fact, I think I might be MORE efficient with my wet hair since I don’t have to get stuck in traffic or deal with the stress of a bad hair day!

Not to mention, it’s so fantastic to be able to hit the ground running in the morning—getting straight to my desk early without having to worry about what I’m going to wear, if I have the right shoes to match, and whether or not my hair will hold up for a busy day at the office.
