Airline Tickets
Surprisingly, Wednesday is the best day of the week to purchase airline tickets. This is the day that the airlines release available seats for their weekend flights. Experts say that it is better to buy tickets at least a couple of weeks ahead of time. When this isn’t possible try purchasing tickets a few days before, since purchases made 1-2 weeks ahead of time are typically the most expensive.
A Home
If you had a few kids who were in school, when would you choose to move out of your home? Probably the summer, right? That way kids are not uprooted during the middle of a school year. This is one reason that more people put their homes on the market during the spring, and why home prices in the spring and summer are generally higher. The best time to buy a home is during the winter. Another reason this might be is because landscaping may not be as attractive during the winter, decreasing the home’s curb appeal.
Toys
The busiest time of year to buy toys of course is during the holiday season. A couple of months before that, however, is the perfect time. About August stores reduce prices on toys, trying to clear out toys for the newest items in time for Christmas.
Televisions
Interestingly enough, the best time to buy televisions is in the spring, starting in April. This is because Japanese companies operate with their fiscal year ending in March, and companies will try to clear out old models while they are welcoming new ones at that time.
