There are some many things good people do in their lives everyday they that probably do not even think about because these things are simply part of who they are. These things make up the character of the man or woman. What if this “good person” is a Christian? There are qualities of their character they should possess as a man or woman living for the Lord. These little things or qualities should be part of who the Christian man or woman is. These little things should come naturally (or eventually come naturally) to the Christian.
These little things a Christian does in their daily life or the qualities they possess can have a huge impact on all the people around them in their lives – Christians as well as non-Christians. These little things can be an encouragement to another Christian who might be struggling with something in their lives. These little things can show the world God.
Here are just a few of the little things Christians may do to make an impact on those around them life everyday.
- Have speech which is seasoned with salt. Christians should have pure speech, free from foul or distasteful language. Christians should also have speech filled with praise to the Lord.
Colossians 4:6: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” - Be kind to others. Christians should be encouragers, not discouragers. Consider Jesus’ words found in Matthew 22:39: “ . . . You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Exhibit self-control. If a Christian is in a frustrating situation, they have a great opportunity to act differently than the world. Christians should not anger easily.
- Exhibit humility. Christians should put others above themselves. Christians can offer their seat in a crowded waiting room. They can let others go before them in whatever they are doing. Christians can choose to serve rather than be served.
