Blue eye shadow, wings, flared Dittos jeans, and frosted orange lip-gloss. If you laughed at yourself, you’re probably in my age range. Those of you shaking your heads don’t know what you missed! That blue eye shadow was a staple in the 70s. It didn’t matter your skin tone, what color eyes you had, what you were wearing, or where you were going. You weren’t complete without that blue eye shadow!
I stopped wearing makeup years ago. No, I’m not a granola (at least, I don’t think so!). But my husband didn’t like it. I got foundation on a favorite sweater of his once, and I don’t think he ever really got over it. Anyway, it’s nice that his eyesight is so bad that he thinks I’m beautiful without it. (Thank God that men’s eyesight seems to begin to fail just as time and gravity start to wreak havoc. What a sense of humor He has!) For those of you who do wear makeup, the Body Shop is having an incredible sale. Eyeliner, eye shadow, foundation and more for a dollar apiece.
The Body Shop carries all-natural products that haven’t been tested on animals, (I’m not making a commentary here, but know some people look for that.) Their products are also hypoallergenic. Usually those tags light up the “expensive” light in my head, but that’s not the case during this sale.
The sale is made even better by entering code STORE for free shipping on orders of $15 or more. I thought I’d have trouble meeting, but that was until I looked at the rest of their clearance pages. In the Gifts section, there are darling gift bags for a dollar, a cranberry candle for $2 (marked down from $16) in the Home section, and cranberry soap in the Bath section for $1. I made the $15 easily, even without the makeup. I’ve been thinking about bringing myself back to the shape I was in during my prime. Can someone please pass the blue eye shadow?
