Yesterday we met award-winning author Pamela S. Thibodeaux and talked with her a bit about her writing and her motivations. If you missed that interview, click here.
Today let’s take a look at Pamela’s novels and see why she’s so popular with her readers.
The first book in Pamela’s series is called “Tempered Hearts.” Published by ComStar Media, this is the story of a rancher named Craig Harris and Tamera Collins, a veterinarian. Their personalities are so different, they clash right from the start, and their tempers get in the way of forming a relationship. But as they come to know each other, they find themselves more and more strongly attracted to each other, although neither one of them will admit to their feelings. They must make peace with issues from their former lives before they can accept the emotions they are having and to not only come closer together, but to draw closer to God.
Next to follow is “Tempered Dreams,” also published by ComStar Media. Katrina Simmons is a battered wife, struggling to overcome her emotional and physical trauma when she meets Dr. Scott Hensley, who has recently suffered the loss of his wife and his parents to death. Can they find the hope and the courage they need to go forward with their lives?
The next installment is “Tempered Fire.” From Pamela’s site: “Amber Harris is a good girl on the brink of womanhood. Stanley Morrison is a young man at the start of his life. For each other, they’ve always felt the fireworks that two people in love should feel. But the questions about his past, his pride and Amber’s father might be the end of what could be a strong relationship. As the two try to protect their budding romance some unlikely but powerful forces conspire to keep them apart. Will they survive the wishes of everyone around them with their relationship intact?”
Although Pamela’s books are romantic, they each carry a strong Christian theme. She speaks of her desire to help her readers draw closer to Christ and to improve their relationships with Him daily. Her critics have compared her writing to that of Karen Kingsbury, who, I must say, is one of my favorite contemporary Christian authors.
Pamela is a former member of American Christian Fiction Writers and the Golden Triangle Writers Guild, Coeur de Louisiane and the Romance Writers of America. She won Coeur’s 1999 “Diamond In The Rough” award as well as their 2000 “Ruby” Award and received her RWA Pro Pin in 2001. That’s pretty impressive!
I for one am glad for this chance to meet this talented author and look forward to reading each of the books in her series.
