I love to watch the Carol Duvall show on HGTV or online. For one thing, Carol is so friendly and warm. She reminds me of one of my aunts. In fact she’s so friendly, I feel like I call her Carol instead of Ms. Duvall.
Carol is also known as the “Queen of Crafts”, and for good reason. She’s been at this craft business for a long time and doing TV crafting since the late 1980’s.
The main reason I love the show is for the projects. Every show has a guest artist or crafter demonstrating step by step instructions for completing a craft project. In case you miss some of the steps or need more details, the full instructions are available online. And what beautiful projects! They vary from jewelry, gifts, toys for children, crafts for children to make, knitted clothing items, purses, and even home and yard decorations.
I love that the show mixes projects. They use polymer clay for scrapbooking. They use scrapbooking papers for home decoration. They use rubber stamps for polymer clay. The guests often demonstrate techniques for their craft mediums. So the viewer learns how to condition polymer clay, how to use brush strokes to form roses, or how to use rubber stamps and an iron to emboss velvet. These techniques can be used for many projects.
Carol and her guests do lots of holiday items, too. The viewer will learn all about wrapping packages, making cards, creating presents, making costumes, and decorating their house and yard. A couple of Carol’s Christmas shows always get me in the spirit.
Sometimes Carol reads mail from her viewers and shares their ideas and projects. Sometimes she does a new product review or demonstrations. This portion always makes me want to run out to the craft store.
