After rumors of infidelity, the long time relationship between American Idol’s Simon Cowell and television reporter Terri Seymour is over. His rep Max Clifford confirmed the two have separated. He said, “Terri phoned Simon and finished it in September, about six weeks ago” but added the two would remain “close friends.” Isn’t that the way it always is? I mean, you never hear a rep say a couple has broken up and vow never to speak to each other again, do you?
What caused the split between the two, who had been dating for six years? Friends are saying that it was their hectic schedules that kept them apart, but could it be because Seymour (who has no children) was not so keen to the fact that Cowell has stated time and time again that he doesn’t plan to get married or become a father…ever? Still, Seymour got a really nice parting gift. Pals of Cowell’s are saying he has bought her a $2.5 million dollar home in Los Angeles to help her adjust to being single (i.e. he kicked her out).
There is another ending over at Fox. They have decided to cancel the long running show “King of the Hill” after thirteen seasons. New episodes of the show will cease after the 2009-2010 season. Both the creators have moved on to other projects. Greg Daniels is the producer, director, and a writer for “The Office” while Mike Judge has announced he will be involved with a new animated series “The Goode Family,” which will appear on ABC.
This cancellation saddens me – “King of the Hill” is my favorite of all the animated series, but I guess it just ran its course. Still, it is the second longest primetime animated series, with “The Simpsons” of course coming in at number one.
