The Fears that Society Gives Us

Our world has turned from warm, loving, family environments. The value that was once put into marriage and relationships does not exist such as it once did. Adultery, cheating, mistrust, and unfaithfulness are more common and much more accepted than ever before.

There are several factors that have caused our idea of marriage and relationships to decline. Technology has helped aide in relationship troubles. Cell phones, text messages, email, and Internet connections are all great starters in unneeded relationships.

While these things cannot be fully blamed for cheating spouses, they have helped make our world a less family originated place. Couples spend more time working with the technology than working on their family relations.

There are many twisted and complicated stories out there about couple triangles and couple cheating.

I had never really thought about how much fear this can place in a relationship until I had a conversation with a friend.

She was discussing how many of her coworkers were either involved in cheating on their spouse or having multiple partners.

We talked about how it seemed that the loving marriage in which the couples honor and cherish each other is now in the minority.

My friend commented on how all of the talk and realization of people cheating on one another had made her question her own spouse. Thinking about all of the many unfaithful people out there had given a hint of worry about how faithful her own partner was. She has a good marriage but from the outside so did the couples that she found out were cheating.

Our world can make you be on the defensive to some level. It seems to me that in some ways it can be compared to driving. No matter how careful you are you still have to look out for those that are not.
