The Firm Aerobic Body Shaping Review

I had posted in a previous blog about my love of The Firm workouts. I reviewed The Firm’s Ultimate Calorie Blaster and how much I enjoyed that workout. I really do, it is fun and fast, just how I want my workouts to be!

I promised one more review of The Firm in another blog. I have kept my promise and will tell you what, I am sure, you have been waiting on pins and needles to learn about: The Firm Aerobic Body Shaping.

The Firm Aerobic Body Shaping is another DVD from the Transfirmer series. I have discussed what the Transfirmer is in my previous Firm blog. You can see a picture of it here, which may help if you haven’t read my other post.

This DVD workout is led by perhaps my favorite instructor, Allie Del Rio. She is great at cuing which leaves me feeling prepared for what is coming next. She is like this in all of The Firm workouts she leads. This workout requires you to have The Transfirmer, and three sets of dumbbells. I confess; I only have two sets. They would like you to have a light set of weights, a medium set and a heavy set. I believe most of the ladies in the DVD use three, five and eight pound weights. I use only three and eight, just because I don’t happen to have any medium weights and I am too cheap to go buy any.

This workout is wonderful, combining sculpting exercises such as lunges, dips, hover squats on the Transfirmer, tall box climb exercises, chest press, tricep dips, bicep curls, and upright rows, to name a few. The workout allows you to utilize the Transfirmer, not only for climbing on and doing dips with, but also in an elevated position to lie on and do weight lifting activities on.

When Allie isn’t leading you through sculpting exercises, she is working you out with several great cardio routines. The combination of using weights at one point and then putting your weights down and going right into a kick-butt cardio routine really boosts your metabolism. This workout is 55 minutes of non-stop movement and it really is fun. I never feel like looking at the clock to see just how much time I have left. I enjoy every sweaty minute of it.

I highly recommend The Firm workouts to anyone. If you are just beginning, that is fine! Each workout has someone doing the low-impact version of each move. If you are an advanced exerciser, this workout will pack a punch. If you are crunched for time, there are Firm workouts out there that are 30 minutes. They pretty much cater to anyone. I even have bad knees and I was afraid the tall box climb moves would hurt them. It doesn’t, I am happy to say.

I can’t say enough about these workouts. Now, if I could only stop eating cookies, perhaps with all of this exercising, I would lose the five pounds I think I need to lose! At least with The Firm, I am able work off the cookies and enjoy myself at the same time!
