Tomorrow is April 30th and the day after that, it’s the first of May. May day! I can hardly wait. The celebration of May Day or Beltane is a long tradition of welcoming back the summer months and embracing the green fresh growth of the earth, the beautiful flowers and why not, how about a celebration of you and I? We’ll talk more about how to make May 1st a day to dedicate to a new you, a healthier you, a happier you and much more. For now, let’s take a moment to look back

Walking vs. Running is an old fitness argument and one that enthusiasts on both side of the aisle can argue with gusto. We take a good look at this argument and we’re happy to report that walking and running are both great options and that it really does come down to personal preference. In Spring Forward to Action Week 3, Day 1: Where Are We? we take a good look at where we have been for the last two weeks and where we are going for this week of our exercise program.

The Long Route is a way to commit to your daily activities. In other words, park further away and walk to the store of your choice; walk the entire grocery store and don’t just rush to the two items you need and much more. When we take the long route, we are encouraging ourselves to be more physically active. Spring Forward to Action Week 3, Day 2: It’s Raining, It’s Pouring we examine what a drought can do to our lives, whether it’s rain we are lacking or exercise.

Wednesday, April 25

Spring Forward to Action Week 3, Day 3: Bad Habits & Exercise invites you to take a look at the bad habits that you or I may engage in on a day to day basis and how that may affect our desire to improve our overall fitness.

Thursday, April 26

Spring Forward to Action, Week 3, Day 4: Turning Down Free Offers can be difficult, but we have to weigh those free offers against whether o not we’re actually going to make use of them. I turned down one this week, but I prefer to workout at home and not have to travel elsewhere to do it.

Friday, April 27

Dear Heather …. I’m Exhausted and aren’t we all worn out at some time or another? For moms with young children, this can be particularly challenging. Finally, in Spring Forward to Action Week 3, Day 5: Creating Weekend Adventures addresses the fact that the weekend is an opportunity for us to get physical while enjoying ourselves or dealing with house chores and more.
