The Fitness Blog Week in Review for May 27 – June 1

We’ve been a bit crazed around here in the fitness blog, but that’s to be expected with the summer time and outdoor activities ramping up. More of us are leaving the gym and heading outside to ride bikes, go swimming, play ball and more. So let’s take a quick run down our week in review.

National Senior Fitness & Health Day happens in May and is celebrated every year.

Monday, May 28

In Women’s Fitness: Target Your Hips we look at how we can target specific areas of the body to get the weight off. Have You Ever Heard of an Exercise Disorder? They exist and often in conjunction with an eating disorder, but it’s important to be able to recognize the signs and we look at them in How Do I Know if I am Exercising Too Much?

Tuesday, May 29

It’s summer time and it’s a good time to Spruce Up Your Fitness Routines. It’s also a good time for us to look at hydration, so Let’s Review Hydration Rules. Hydration is vitally important, both when you’re exercising and when you’re not. It’s equally important not to overdo it and drink too much water.

Shake Your Booty and check out the latest in vibration exercise equipment. It’s also time for our End of May Fitness Goal Check.

Friday, June 1

Goals – Building, Living and Being Inspired takes a hard look at how to build our fitness goals. Finally, we give ourselves some Treadmill Workout Tips designed to help motivate and increase your success with your treadmill as you dive into your summer routines.

Heather Long is 35 years old and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. She has been a freelance writer for six years. Her husband and she met while working together at America Online over ten years ago. They have a beautiful daughter who just turned five years old. She is learning to read and preparing for kindergarten in the fall. A former horse breeder, Heather used to get most of her exercise outside. In late 2004, early 2005 Heather started studying fitness full time in order to get herself back into shape. Heather worked with a personal trainer for six months and works out regularly. She enjoys shaking up her routine and checking out new exercises. Her current favorites are the treadmill (she walks up to 90 minutes daily) and doing yoga for stretching. She also performs strength training two to three times a week. Her goals include performing in a marathon such as the Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness or Team in Training for Lymphoma research. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience through the fitness and marriage blogs.
