Good morning and Happy Saturday – what a crazy week this has been. For me, it involved taking some much needed down time and time off from the writing. Though you saw blogs from me here, most of these were written ahead of time when I could and others were written on the fly. My daughter and I planned to do a lot together this week, but she came down with a nasty cold at the beginning of the week so we spent a lot of our week snuggled up together and watching movies as we nursed her through her cold.
With just two days to go before school starts back up, she is feeling better. We’re pulling down the Christmas decorations and starting the arduous task of redoing our home in the festive image – and even as I type this, she is doing the finishing touches on some handmade ornaments that we will be adding to the tree. This week, she will also turn 6 years old and I can’t believe that it’s been six years since she was born – it really does feel like it was only yesterday. Still, we did cover some interesting ground this week so let’s talk fitness:
Saturday, November 18
Day 11: Falling Off The Horse continued my chronicles of trying to quit smoking, it got off to a promising start, but it’s a lot harder than it sounds and though I am far from giving up – falling off the horse was a setback. In Post Natal Fitness: Your Feet Were Made for Walking continued our series on Post Natal fitness for moms everywhere, especially those with brand new little ones.

In Holiday Fitness Ideas: Why 10,000 Steps? we tackled what the 10,000 step program is and how you can make use of it over the holidays.
Monday, November 20
Post Natal Fitness: Ramp Up The Walking discussed how new moms can use walking to maximize their fitness goals and to help get themselves back into shape. In Day 13: Monday, Monday – I Got Nothing I went over the reasons why I slipped up and how hard it is to quit smoking. It also addressed how we were going to set the clock back at zero.
Tuesday, November 21
Post Natal Fitness: Counting Calories addressed some fitness facts that moms may not be aware of including the fact that your body burns 10% more calories if you are carrying a boy instead of a girl. In Fitness Tips: Your Hands & Arthritis we tackled how exercise can provide a natural remedy for your arthritis.

My Personal Note of Thanksgiving let me say thank you to so many people here at Families.com and more. I believe in sharing my thanks for the gifts in my life both personally and professionally.

Thanksgiving Day – Give Yourself a Day Off is a free pass to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast and not worrying about exercise unless you want to. Enjoy time with your family and more. In New Kids on the Climb we talked about climbing and how popular it is becoming for our youth and more.
Friday, November 24
It was Black Friday and retail stores were pulling out all the stops in order to get out of the red and back into the black. To that effort, I was out of the house most of the day and we skipped our usual round of Friday Funnies and more.
