Welcome to the third week in review for December and the end of our second full week. We’ve got just nine days left until Christmas and it’s been busy here in the Fitness Blog and I am assuming it will stay busy and that’s good for those of us trying to maintain our fitness amid the hectic pace that surrounds shopping, decorating, preparing and celebrating. So here is our Fitness Week in Review:
Saturday, December 9
In Hoop Dancing – It’s Not Just for Kids Anymore we talked about a growing trend on the fitness circuit that involves aerobics with a hula-hoop. In Gift Certificates for Fitness we talked about the different types of gift certificates you can give that provide fitness gifts at the holiday.
Sunday, December 10
Let’s Talk About New Year’s Resolutions discussed the importance of thinking about our resolutions and how we need to do more than just think about the resolution, we need to think about the plan that will help us achieve these resolutions. In Fitness: The Holiday Perspective we talked about the joyful time of the holidays and how it is important to remember those who are with us and those who have left us in years past. In My Fitness DVD Wish List I discussed some of the DVDs I would like to have for Christmas.
Monday, December 11
In Holiday Diet Bombs – Be Aware we talked about the problems you can run into when you are shopping crazily and eating what’s available and the calorie bombs you might be ingesting without realizing it. In Fitness Gifts for Kids, we reminded you that it is important for you to include gifts that get your kids active with all those video games and more. In The Real Wonder Drug in our world is exercise and how much it can do for you.
Tuesday, December 12
In Post-Natal Fitness: Aerobic Workout we discussed ho9w aerobic workouts maximize the oxygen demands of your body and how useful they can be in your bid to get back into shape after your baby is born. In Fitness Trend Predictions for 2007 we looked at the American Council on Exercise’s report on the expected trends in the fitness for the coming year.
Wednesday, December 13
In Men’s Fitness: Why You Have to Lift Weights we discussed the importance of weight lifting and why you need to be the weight lifting type. In Let’s Talk About Our Muscles – Upper Body we talked about the different muscles located in our arms, shoulders, back and chest and the importance of understanding those muscles as a part of our workout. The Pros and Cons of Weight Machines offered a discussion on what is good and bad about working out on weight machines.
Thursday, December 14
Let’s Talk About Our Muscles – Lower Body continued our discussion from Wednesday and we looked at the muscles that make up our abdomen, glutes and legs. The more you know, the better you are able to perform your exercises beneficially for your health and strength training. In Dear Heather, I was wondering … we continued our question and answer feature where you send in the questions and we do our best to answer them.
