If you are looking to update your home flooring this year, you will want to go with the clean classic option of hardwood.
People are choosing hardwood floors for several reasons.
First: Hardwood floors are easy to clean. Carpet requires frequent spot cleaning and shampooing, especially if you have a busy household. With well finished hardwood floors, you can easily wipe up a spill, and sweep with a dust mop instead of lugging around a heavy vacuum, and occasionally use a damp mop to shine it up.
Second: Hardwood floors never go out of style. Hardwood floors have been used for home flooring since Medieval times when they created floors from two foot wide pine planks. Over time, hardwood flooring has evolved to what is is today. Since hardwood was first mass produced in the 19th century, it has been the most popular choice of anyone who could afford it.
Third: Hardwood floors are currently more affordable than it has been in the past. Carpet has traditionally been the more economic flooring choice. As carpet prices have risen steadily (beginning with the major spike in oil prices in 2008), the gap between carpet and hardwood is quickly closing. This makes the more desirable choice no so much of a reach.
Fourth: Hardwood floors are very versatile, coming in many different styles and types of wood. From light yellow to black stained, from wide plank to narrow, from immaculate to gently worn, choices of wood flooring are as varied your imagination can provide. In addition, wood in all of its variations are inherently beautiful, making it an ideal flooring that will translate from one home owner to the next.
