Remember when Jane Jetson pushed some buttons on her family’s Food-a-Rac-a-Cycle and out popped a fully cooked meal? I was so jealous, in our house the only way you got food was to make it yourself, how terribly 1950’s of my mother. I always secretly wanted one of those machines, and finally, it looks like my dream may be coming true.
Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes has invented one of the first, push button, food comes out machines, better knows as the Cupcake ATM.
Now, if you live in Beverly Hills and you want a cupcake you can just drive down to Sprinkles flagship store, any hour of the day or night, and get a fresh cupcake.
The machine holds 600 cupcakes that are restocked, day and night, so they are always fresh. The touch screen pulls up a menu of cupcakes, cake mixes, apparel and doggie cupcakes. Make your choice and swipe your credit card then the fun starts.
While your card is being processed you will see a video from the camera that is on the robotic arm that is getting your cupcake. The robotic arm places the cupcake in a dainty little cardboard box for delivery.
Now when you take your puppy for it’s nightly walk you can both get a treat, as long as you are in Beverly Hills. I can’t wait until they bring one to Utah.
This is the start of a dream come true, first cupcakes, soon bacon and eggs then one day the entire meal, right at your fingertips. Just call me Jane, I want to be the first person on my block with a food dispensing ATM.
Now to find a company to stock all the food, already prepared and the majority of my housework has disappeared. I’m sure everything will be served on disposables so I won’t have to wash dishes either.
