My sister and I were really excited when we learned that we both were pregnant with baby girls! Our daughters are a mere three months apart. When my daughter was a newborn that three month difference seemed immense, but now that they are both equally mobile that gap has narrowed quite a bit.
We love getting our girls together to for play dates as often as we can, which usually ends up being several times a week now that they live nearby (instead of ten hours away). Not only do my sister and I have a great time during our play dates, our daughters also seem to have a lot of fun together too!
It is fascinating watching the two of them interact with each other. Them seem to be very close in their mobile abilities at their current stage and neither one is walking quite yet. While my daughter rarely stands without holding on to something or someone, her cousin frequently stands alone. The few baby steps she has taken quickly turn into crawling which she seems to prefer over trying to walk. This is great for my daughter who has a little bit further to go in her development before she starts walking. Since they both love to crawl, they have lots of adventures together. They like to crawl and play under the tables together and they are both super determined to climb the stairs (perhaps they both know that there are more toys in the bedroom).
For cousins they are very similar in their appearance. They both have platinum blond hair and blue eyes. There is only an inch difference in their height and a pound difference in their weight. From a distance they could be twins. They do however have very different personalities as far as we can tell. My daughter is more laid back and content while her cousin is more opinionated and vocal (she is older after all). My sister and I are hoping that they will grow up to be good friends either way!
