Fans saw Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s relationship go from on-again to off-again on the show. Their romance drove a wedge between former BFFs (best friends forever) Heidi and Lauren Conrad. In fact, at one point, no one seemed to know if the two were really engaged or not. But now, the two from “The Hills” seem on-again – for good! The two announced to the press that they quietly eloped to Mexico last Thursday, November 20. The marriage occurred at the One & Only Palmilla Resort outside of Cabos San Lucas.
These two usually seem to love the attention of the media, so it seems a bit surprising that their elopement was so under the radar. In fact, it was so under the radar that Montag’s own father didn’t know about it! He said “I would be upset if she got married and didn’t invite me.” Oops!
Then again, maybe there was a reason the two eloped. Montag’s mother wasn’t at the ceremony, but Montag said she called her before it happened and hinted that something big was up. Montag’s mother said, “Well, if you plan on getting married, just know that your stepdad is really upset that you want your father to walk you down the aisle.” So, I guess with the secret elopement, there were no hard feelings for either dad.
Of the wedding, Montag said, “The minute we said our vows, I couldn’t stop crying.” US Weekly (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1600101/20081124/story.jhtml) is reporting that Pratt’s vows read, “Heidi, from the moment you came into my life, I knew my life would never be the same without you. You are the light in my life like the sun to the Earth! Your loving warmth makes me want to be a better person. Being with you, I feel complete. I’m honored to even be able to call you my wife. You are the most amazing, loving and caring woman on this planet. I will love you forever and always.” Ah, isn’t that sweet? However, I cannot help but think that someone somewhere has started the bets on how long this one will last.
Pratt’s sister, Stephanie, who also stars on “The Hills,” said she was happy for the couple, but has not talked to them since the marriage. You get to see the new couple when they show up on an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” in January.
