The church has set aside Friday nights as a date night for married couples. This means that no activities should be scheduled for Friday nights. It is apparent that the church realizes the importance of nurturing your relationship. You should take the time to nurture your relationship. You may not have enough money to go out on elaborate dates every week. Here are five fun, simple ways to date your spouse.
1) One fun and simple activity is to take a walk together. This is a great chance to spend some real time together. There are relatively few distractions when you are walking. You can enjoy the beauty of nature, get some exercise, and spend some time talking to each other.
2) Another fun activity is to play a board game together. My husband and I enjoy Trivial Pursuit and Settlers of Zarahemla. These games can take an hour or more to play. We end up talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.
3) Check out your local museums. They often offer a free night once a month. You can go with your spouse to see new exhibits and shows that they have to offer. Many museums also show old movies for free one night a month. It is also nice to visit the museum without children sometimes. This can be a fun date occasionally.
4) Another great date is a trip to the temple. This is a great chance to reconnect and help to serve. Going to the temple together can help to strengthen your relationship, and remind you of the importance of your marriage.
5) Splurge! Once in a while you should go out for a nice dinner out, and a play or the ballet. If you can you might want to a plan a weekend away. It is important to pamper yourselves occasionally and celebrate your relationship.
