The Marriage Blog Week in Review for April 14-20

What a week! It’s been crazy here between what’s been going on with my nephew, illness in the house and more. But it’s also been a really interesting week here in terms of our blogs from the proposed laws in Texas to Julie Gentry’s guest blog about the husband-in-law. Did you miss a story this week? Here’s your chance to catch up on our week in review:

Saturday, April 14

In Tales of Marriage: The Unexpected Compliment, I talked about the great compliment my husband paid me with regards to my skills as a parent. It’s always good to hear when people have nice things to say about you – especially when its your husband who’s opinion you value.

Sunday, April 15

In Marriages in the News: Covenant Marriages & Texas Legislation and The Marriage Counselor of Texas? Good Question, Sherry and I discuss the merits and problems with several proposed laws governing marriage in Texas.

Julie Gentry shares a delightful story in The Husband-in-Law about her father and her step-father’s relationship.

Monday, April 16

Dear Gentlemen, Mother’s Day is Coming and the time to start thinking about that is now and not in three weeks when the clock will be ticking down and you may be left scrambling. Sherry offers some great Tips for Finding More Alone Time and we explore more laws governing marriage in Marriage in the News: Age & The Law in Marriage.

Wednesday, April 18

In Celebrity Marriages: Rumors about Hulk Hogan and Wife Linda Untrue explored what’s making news and what’s not true in those rumors.

Thursday, April 19

Following up yesterday’s Celebrity Marriages installment, Celebrity Marriages (or not): Prince William and Kate Middleton took a look at why this marriage everyone thought was going to happen likely didn’t. In a A Kiss is Just a Kiss we talked about the power and the intimacy of a kiss and we looked at the other side of the romantic coin because while it may make a great literary device, Being Left at the Altar is not romantic or pleasant.

Friday, April 20

Finally in, Strong Marriage Equals Stronger Parents we took a look at a study offered by the Ohio State University on how a strong marriage can support parents when they are dealing with a fussy baby. Valorie also wrote a great blog on this same study over in the Baby blog, so you should check them both out!
