Where is our Marriage Blog Week in Review? Yes, we’ve been absent for a month, but here we are back and in full form – I hope. You can expect to see our Week in Reviews returning to their traditional Saturday spot. In the meanwhile, let’s do a quick rundown of the first week of April!

Friday March 30th

Sunday April 1st

That’s okay, neither did anyone else because it was our April Fool’s joke in Marriage in the News: April 1, 2007. In real news, Sherry and I butted heads in Marriage in the News – Bill will Require Marriage Classes and Marriage in the News: Class or Fee, which will it be? as we debated Nebraska’s move towards encouraging couples to take pre-marriage education classes in order to save money on their marriage licenses. In Dating Advice? Let’s Get Real Sherry takes a more realistic look at dating and the kinds of advice we do need to hear and finally in Special Anniversaries have you though about what makes particular anniversaries special?

Monday April 2nd

I celebrated my 35th birthday today and my husband gave me a fantastic present in The Gift of Time. Sherry asked a great question in Do You and Your Spouse Deal with Finances Together? because it’s an important issue in finding the right harmony and balance in your personal relationship.

Tuesday April 3rd

Do You Hate Telling Your Spouse No? it’s hard on both sides of the relationship and you need to cut each other a break.

Wednesday April 4th

In the News: Gay Marriage Issues Still in the News tackled issues being addressed in Massachusetts and Indiana and apparently lighting some fires along the way. Sherry continued the debated in Gay Marriage Debate gets Heated at Families.com. In The Three F’s of Marriage we talk about friendship, fun and forgiveness and how important they are in marriage.

Thursday April 5th

Your Influence over Your Spouse can be a great thing and it’s likely that you have a great deal of influence over your spouse. This is a great article and it offers up some salient questions such as does your spouse use you or your habits as an excuse to do things he or she shouldn’t?

Saturday, April 7

Finally, in Ask a Marriage Blogger: Do You Know Where Civil Unions Come From? we answer a reader’s questions about civil unions in our country and our popular culture? The answer may surprise you some.
