The Mom Project is committed to helping women remain active in the workforce at every stage of they journey. The Mom Project is proud to work with employers who are committed to designing and supporting a better workplace.
According to The Mom Project, an estimated 43% of highly skilled women leave the workforce after becoming mothers. CEO/Founder of The Mom Project read that statistic while on maternity leave. She started to imagine a future where women would not have to choose between parenthood and their careers. The Mom Project was founded in 2016.
You can join The Mom Project movement in two ways. You can join as an individual, who is looking for her next professional opportunity. Or, you can join as a company that is looking to hire on behalf of that company.
Individuals who join The Mom Project can search for career opportunities within their platform from vetted, family-friendly employers, and get access to job search tools. Individuals can also get access to job search tools, career development resources and a thriving community of moms and allies. Those who are joining on behalf of a company need to fill out a form on The Mom Project website.
One of the unique things that The Mom Project offers to companies is a Maternityship. Their Maternityship program provides companies with coverage through resourcing gaps created by paternal leaves of absence while also providing mothers a bridge back into the workforce.
Another interesting thing about The Mom Project is that you don’t have to be a woman to get accepted into The Mom Project. It is an equal opportunity platform that welcomes any person who identifies with The Mom Project’s mission and goals.
The Mom Project is free for all individuals (or “talent”) that join the project. It does not cost anything to apply for a job opportunity through their platform.
