Nine months after the death of Heath Ledger and several months after rumors of a possible relationship, actress Michelle Williams and director Spike Jonze have gone public with their romance.
The two were seen at a screening of Synecdoche (in which Williams stars) in Manhattan on Wednesday night. The two came into the auditorium together and Jonze had his arm around Williams’ waist. Sources say they held hands as they walked through the lobby. After stopping to talk to co-star Catherine Keener, Jonze again put his arm around Williams’ waist. At the after party on the rooftop of the Gramercy Hotel, one source reported that they stood so close together, they were practically “spooning.”
Williams, who had a three year relationship with Ledger, has never been married while Jonze was once married to fellow director Sofia Coppola, who, if you are keeping track, is the daughter of famed director Francis Ford Coppola and the cousin of actor Nicolas Cage.
Now that we know that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are officially over, it may have come to no surprise to anyone to read in this morning’s headlines that Tea Leoni and David Duchovny have also decided to call it quits. David just got out of rehab earlier this month for sex addition and for a while, it seemed as if Tea was backing him up during his stay.
But today, we learned that the couple has actually been separated for several months. A statement released by the couple said they had “hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children.” The couple, who married in 1997, has a nine year old daughter (Madelaine) and a six year old son (Kyd).
I guess the actors have their careers to help keep them busy. Duchovny has his Showtime series “Californication” and an untitled project in pre-production while Leoni has her next movie Manure in post-production.
