The Perfect Size Exercise Ball for You

The exercise ball is deceiving. It does not look like a useful fitness item that will help you to get into shape, but believe or not, it is. By using the exercise ball in combination with a good weight loss regime you will be in shape in no time. Exercise balls are used in Pilates, Yoga and in simple floor exercises. However, to obtain the full beneficial results when exercising you need to buy the correct size ball.

The correct size ball is determined by your height. They range in sizes of 45 cm to 85 cm.

If you are:

5 foot and under you will need an exercise ball measuring 45 cm

5 feet 1 inch-5 feet 8 inches you will need an exercise ball measuring 55 cm

5 feet 9 inches-6 feet 2 inches you will need an exercise ball measuring 65 cm

6 feet 3 inches-6 feet 7 inches you will need an exercise ball measuring 75 cm

If you are 6 feet 8 inches and taller you will need an exercise ball measuring 85 cm

The first step in using an exercise ball is learning correct posture. If you are overweight you will want to go with the next larger size ball. When doing exercises that require you to sit on the ball the ball will be compressed somewhat.
