The Pets Blog Week in Review for Aug 6-12

Phew, it’s hot out there. Did you keep up with the Pets Blog last week? If not, here’s your chance to catch up on what Aimee and myself wrote about. So pour yourself a cool drink, settle back in a comfy chair, grab your mouse, and point and click to read what we covered on:

Monday, August 6

Aimee profiled an ancient breed of dog, the Mastiff. I claimed the fame in part one of My Life as a Pets Blogger. Aimee discussed aggression at home that results from improper handling and how to correct that.

Tuesday, August 7

In part two of My Life as a Pets Blogger I wrote about the tales I hear once people find out what it is I do for a living. Aimee profiled another dog, one descended from the Mastiff that she discussed the day before: the Bullmastiff. She also continued her aggression at home series by examining guarding behaviors and how to “reduce possession aggression.” (I love phrases that rhyme and that one was too cute I thought.)

Wednesday, August 8

Does your cat (or any pet for that matter) have a favorite toy? Tabby does. In her case nothing beats her Wiffie. Today was Happiness Happens Day (which falls during Happiness Happens Month). For me happiness happens when I’m with Murphy, Kitty, and Tabby. Aimee talked about the small steps that can save giant sea turtles along the Western Pacific coastline.

Thursday, August 9

Sometimes fellow bloggers and Families.com family members pass FYIs my way. I compiled them and passed them on to everyone else. Do you have a mutt? Or a pound hound of undetermined origin? Now there’s a way for you to figure out what Fido is with a doggie DNA test. Aimee contemplated dog philosophy and what it would be like being a dog.

Friday, August 10

Me and my catalogs…I’m always perusing them. Can’t buy right now because of our impending move, so I did the next best thing: put together a sampling of dog days of summer deals for cats from Doctors Foster and Smith. Looking for something to do this summer that keeps you out of the heat? Why not try one of these pet projects: make a video, write a story, or nominate a hero?

Saturday, August 11

Well you knew I couldn’t cover cats without giving their canine counterparts their due. Hence, Dog Days of Summer Deals for Dogs at Doctors Foster and Smith.

Sunday, August 12

Yep, it’s Sunday again. All’s quiet on the pets blogging front today.
