What were the top tips and scorching scoops last week? You’ve come to the right place to get the Pets Blog breakdown of the stories Aimee and I covered.
Monday, February 5
The Colts might have won Super Bowl XLI, but Puppy Bowl III was the hot topic around our water cooler Monday morning. In fact, puppies dominated the day because Aimee had a big experience last weekend: her first volunteer animal transport! Read about it in The Open Road and a Carload of Puppies.

We met RITA Award-Winning Author Linnea Sinclair and Her Cover Model Cat Daq. In A Hero in Dog’s Clothing, Aimee shared the inspiring story of a German shepherd who’s now named Hero after he pulled a wrecked motorist to the highway so she could flag down help.
Wednesday, February 7
Nashville’s first measurable snow of the year and Murphy’s reaction to it inspired Snowballs, Snowmen, and a Dog Gone Wild. Aimee was happy to report that Franklin the Bassett Hound is Back at Work after laws that banned him from accompanying his owner to work were changed.
Thursday, February 8
Aimee reminds us all that “it’s not what you say but how you say it” that counts in Training: Body Language Matters. Searching for the perfect Valentine gift? Some gifts give even more than others, like those mentioned in Six Gifts for Both Your Valentine and Endangered, Neglected, and Homeless Animals.
Friday, February 9
What animals, especially rescued ones, do to us was the topic of Acclaimed Author L.C. Hayden’s “Killer” Effect. Aimee told about the ways she makes her pets comfortable when she can’t be there with them and wondered what the rest of us do When Your Dog is Home Alone. (In my case, I hope the cat doesn’t pick on him too much!)
Saturday, February 10
A friend sent me an email about a rescued stray that prompted The Sad (?) Tale of Gordon Lee. In Training: NILIF, Aimee talks about the four steps that comprise this method of pet discipline.
