We snuggled up with quilter, author, and pet lover Annette Mahon in an interview. Aimee gave pointers for taming your pet mouse, most important of which was to take your time and have patience. I explored an expression often heard around this time of year to understand why it’s called the Dog Days of Summer and why dogs take the heat for the heat.
Wednesday, July 4
The 4th of July is reserved for everything American: hot dogs, baseball, apple pie, and fireworks. Murph would love to be allowed the indulgence of eating both hot dogs and apple pie and he’d get a kick out of chasing a baseball, but fireworks is what makes the 4th of July Murphy’s most dreaded day of the year.
Thursday, July 5
It may be hot outside, but I wanted to help you take advantage of the Dog Days of Summer with some hot pet supplies deals at PetSmart that I came across. Like humans, mice have dietary considerations too. Aimee covered the types of food you should feed your pet mouse and even listed some treats they might like.

I’m not too keen on Cesar Millan’s style of training, but Tamar Geller is a dog trainer I can relate to. She’s all about showing dogs the love and getting lots back in return.
