The Pets Blog Week in Review for Jun 25-Jul 1

Last week Aimee and I wrapped up June and ushered in July here in the Pets Blog. From Jacques Cousteau to chinchillas, I guess you could say we again covered the gamut. If you missed a day, reference the handy recap below to catch up with what we covered on:

Monday, June 25

He took us to the depths of the ocean and paved the way for other animal activists. To him we pay tribute in In Memoriam: Jacques Cousteau. Providing a suitable living environment is important for your sensitive-skinned amphibian friends. Aimee looks at three types of tanks for salamanders and newts to dwell happily in.

Tuesday, June 26

On a routine errand run I found that Target was a surprising place to find great cat toys. Because salamanders and newts do have porous skin, there’s more to keeping them healthy than just giving them a place to stay. Aimee explains the importance of tank care for newts and salamanders to maintain their health.

Wednesday, June 27

Ends (in a manner of speaking) seemed to be the theme of the day. First with the end of Mr. Meow’s maestro days, then with Aimee’s update about how Moose is healing and how they’re all adjusting, including pictures of poor Moose’s tail-less rump.

Thursday, June 28

I am so very excited to announce Mr. Meow’s bed boycott is finally over! Aimee suggests a good first choice for amphibian pets: fire bellied newts.

Friday, June 29

Aimee covered Chinchilla basics. (It’s hard to believe that a creature with such a cute sounding name is part of the rodent family, but they are.)

Saturday, June 30

For me, animal movies equal torture, so how did I fare through Evan Almighty? (Surprisingly well, actually.) Aimee assured us that taming your chinchilla is easy with nothing more than a little time and patience.

Sunday, July 1

Our day of rest…
