The Pets Blog Week in Review for Sep 10-16

If you missed any of the Pets Blog last week you’ve clicked the right place to catch up. Here’s what Aimee and I wrote on:

Monday, September 10

I related the big fun Murph has with his flying monkey. (Nope, they’re not just for Dorothy and Toto to play with anymore.) Oh what a tangled web we weave…when we walk our dogs? Well, when Aimee walks her dogs. She becomes the Amazing Spider Head! And because of her encounters, it got her to wondering about poisonous spiders. Best to know what they look like in case she comes across them. (And from the sounds of it, she might!)

Tuesday, September 11

Throughout the Families.com blogs many a tribute to the victims of 9/11 and remembrances of that day could be found. Aimee and I among them. Aimee wrote September 11th Search and Rescue Dogs: Six Years Later. I did The Pets of 9/11. But for Aimee September 11 also marks another anniversary, the passing of her dog Miko. In memoriam she wrote a rather humorous piece about his personality flaw.

Wednesday, September 12

Aimee had yet another spider encounter, this time in her own home, when one tried to attack her in her kitchen. She escaped unscathed, but it prompted the writing of Pet First Aid: Spider Bites. I decided to do a couple of updates on past stories I’d written, specifically HSUS video contest winners and PETitionz.org’s pet food regulation progress. Have you ever wanted to test your dog’s intelligence? Aimee listed some simple ways to do so.

Thursday, September 13

Our impending move has generated a lot of chaos, but some excitement too. After all, it’s fun getting new digs to live in. Trust me, Murphy, Mr. Meow, and Tabby’s dream house is one I wouldn’t mind residing in at all! No matter what, I bet the thunk, doing, whap racket they make is going to follow us, though. Aimee sat down with the owner of The Chocolate Lab pet shop and had a nice chat about the products.

Friday, September 14

It was my birthday so I took the day off, but Aimee wondered who your dog would vote for after she read about a lady who registered her dog to vote to prove registering was too easy.

Saturday, September 15

September 15 is Responsible Dog Ownership Day so I talked about being a responsible dog owner and Aimee wrote about going above and beyond and the things we do in the name of love for our pets.

Sunday, September 16

No blogs today because Aimee worked hard all week and needed a day off, and Wayne and I were busy celebrating our 12th year wedding anniversary.
