Are you a health hero? Do you know a health warrior who deserves recognition? ABC News and Prevention magazine have teamed up to find the Picture of Health in a woman over the age of forty.
The search is on for a woman who can teach the country a thing or two about healthy living. Maybe this year’s winner is an inspiration to others. Maybe she motivates friends and family to eat right and exercise. Perhaps she’s overcome a huge life or health challenge and is now stronger than ever!
Finalists will be chosen by folks from Prevention magazine and ABC News. Each finalist will be profiled in the June issue of Prevention and the videos will appear on the ABC News website and Good Morning America. Choose your favorite finalist and vote. One winner will be chosen as the 2008 Picture of Health.
Here are the prizes for the woman America chooses as the Picture of Health:
- A trip to New York City to appear on Good Morning America in June.
- A photo shoot in the September issue of Prevention magazine.
- An invitation to contribute to Prevention magazine (both in print and online). Last year’s winner, B.J. Reed still blogs for Prevention in between training for and running triathalons.
- A five thousand dollar cash prize.
- Five thousand dollars to donate to the charity of your choice.
Entries must be received by January 31st, so pick your health hero and get moving! Finalists will be chosen based on the essay, the testimonial video, and the appearance of good health.
