I love to decorate my house, and redecorate as the feeling moves me. I think your home should be a reflection of your personality and mine definitely is! I love color, as evidenced by my creamsicle colored family room and my pink bathroom.
Paint is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to update your home. I know everyone likes neutrals but I say so for what you like! Recently Hailey moved into the basement and has her own bathroom. For the first time in my life I have a bathroom of my own. I was so excited, no kid mess to clean up every day, my bathroom would stay just the way I left it.
I knew I had to redecorate. I wanted my bathroom to reflect my personality and since I’m single I wanted it to be as girlie as possible so I went with pink, lots and lots of pink. I used flowers and wire birdcages, white shelving and redid the front of the vanity in a soft green. I even made a ruffled shower curtain.
Every morning when I walk in there to get ready for work, it makes me smile. It didn’t cost much to do, most of the decorations I picked up at the dollar store or thrift store, but it truly reflects who I am. Whenever I start to get bored or frustrated and something just doesn’t seem right, I know it’s time to paint something. For less than $30 I can change an entire room.
I usually find something I love and build the room around it, for this bath it was the ruffled shower curtain, the half bath downstairs it was the mirror. I found an incredible mirror on clearance and used the color and style to determine the bathroom look.
The family room came from a picture I love, it had the orange in it, and so I painted the walls orange and bought accessories to complete the look. I love scouring thrift stores and yard sales for just the right thing to complete a room.
Show your personality and your love for your home with a little paint and a few new accessories. Amazingly it even motivates me to keep the space cleaner.- Yes that is a picture from my bathroom above.
