Searching for child care, whether it is occasional or full time means that you are searching for your substitute. When considering child care, it is helpful to know about the six different options that you may have.
In Home Care
This is probably the most desirable option for your baby. In home care means that your baby stays in the home and is cared for by a parent, a relative, a friend or a hired caregiver. In home care means that your baby has familiar surroundings, familiar toys, familiar germs and does not need to be transported.
Shared Care
With shared home care, you connect with another set of parents and basically trade child care. The other family watches your child some days, and then you watch their child on other days. Generally, the parent who is doing the care does it in her own home. The advantage of this arrangement is that it is cost effective and your baby will usually receive the same level of care that she would at home because you are likely to connect with parents that share your same parenting style.
Home Run Day Care
With a home run day care, the caregiver runs the daycare out of her own home. The caregiver may only watch your child or have several children. With this arrangement, you want to make sure that the person watching your child isn’t just piling in a large number of kids for the income. With a home run day care, the idea setting is one person per one one-year-old or two two-year-olds, and this should include her own children, according to Dr. William and Martha Sears in their book, The Baby Book. . A home run day care should be licensed and references checked carefully.
