Missy Chase Lapine has given parents 272 pages of good advice in her book, The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals. We all want our children to eat healthier and cringe when they balk that they do not like their vegetables.
We cannot force our kids to eat what they should. We cannot bribe or punish them either. It just does not work like that. They either have to want to eat what we make or make what they want to eat with a few extra ingredients added to it.
Ms. Lapine shows us how to sneak in the things that will give our kids the extra vitamins that they need in their diet without getting a big thumbs down from them. There are more than 75 recipes in this book that shows parents how to disguise important and nutritional foods.
This book has been a blessing to parents everywhere who have worried about their children’s health. It has received rave reviews as well. We would all like our children to learn good eating habits on their own. Sometimes, however, it takes a little ingenuity to help your child overcome their vegetable disgust until they are old enough to choose good and healthy meals on their own.
Help your children to learn to eat healthy from the time that they are young. Encourage fruits and vegetables. Discourage the indulgence of soda, fast foods and chips. Limit the amount of candy that they eat. Teach them good eating habits, such as eating three meals a day, drinking plenty of water and portion control.
Be sure that your kids get plenty of exercise several days a week. Limit their television and video game use. Make sure that they are sleeping an adequate number of hours each night.
