The Ups and Downs of Celebrity

So much for a summer wedding… or a fall or winter one.

George Clooney is hanging tight to his title of Hunkiest Bachelor Alive. According to reports, he and girlfriend Sarah Larson have split up after a year of dating.

Larson is the stunning beauty the actor met in Sin City nearly four years ago while she was working as a cocktail waitress. The 29-year-old former Fear Factor winner caught Clooney’s eye and the pair began a romantic relationship in June 2007.

Within weeks Larson and her 47-year-old beau made appearances together at the Venice and Deauville film festivals and eventually the statuesque model would make history by becoming the first girlfriend to ever accompany Clooney to the Oscars.

Once that happened the rumor mill went into overdrive speculating that the two were headed down the aisle, though Clooney vehemently denied that he would be ending his longtime bachelorhood.

Despite surviving a motorcycle accident together last fall the two just couldn’t make it work.

Can hear the cheers from single women around the world?

Other individuals with reason to cheer include actress Laura Allen of TV’s Dirt. According to her rep, she is expecting her first child with her husband Bruce Weyman later this summer.

The baby will reportedly be the first grandchild for both families.

You’ll recall that Allen wed her cover model husband in Italy in 2006, two days before she began her role as Julia Mallory on Courteney Cox’s Dirt.

Also adding to the family is former Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star Caroline Rhea. The actress and her longtime boyfriend, Costaki Economopoulos, are expecting their first child, according to her rep.

The 44-year-old mom-to-be is due this fall, shortly after her new project, a stint on the series Sordid Lives, wraps up. Prior to the baby’s birth, Rhea says she will travel with her stand-up comedian husband who recently qualified for the World Series of Poker.
