The Vault Will Close on January 31st

As you get ready to do your holiday shopping over the next month, keep in mind that Disney is going to be putting a few more titles back into the Vault and will likely not be released again for another decade. For those of you who may not be familiar with the Disney Vault, putting these titles back in means they will no longer be for sale – retailers will remove them from their shelves and you won’t be able to order them. Your only chance for finding these specific titles again will be to look for someone selling it individually on EBay.

Among their top titles that they plan to return to the Vault on January 31, 2007 will be:

Each DVD contains special bonuses that were created by Disney for these releases. Periodically the Disney Corporation opens the Vault to release one of the Golden titles for a limited release such as they did recently with the Little Mermaid. Of the titles they are going to be vaulting on January 31, I only own 2 – the original Lady and the Tramp and the Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure.

The first is a classic tale of a displaced dog that must survive the harder knocks of life with her friend Tramp in order to return to her loving family. The movie also has a tendency to give Siamese cats a bad name, but I still like them. As for Scamp’s Adventure, it’s a wonderful coming of age tale for the young son of the original’s Lady and the Tramp who thinks that life on the streets and being a tramp must be better than the cushy home life with their owners.

If you are looking for a good holiday investment, these might go on your list because after January 31, 2007 – you won’t be able to find them again – possibly for another ten years.
