FINALLY!
The double dose of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has entered the world, and by all accounts they are healthy and happy.
The doctor who delivered the infants, who in all likelihood will be the highest paid tots in the world once their pictures are published, say the birth went off without a hitch.
Forget about the rumors that the actress was carrying twin girls, according to Jolie’s doctor, she gave birth to a son and a daughter.
The boy, which the Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt named Knox Leon, weighed 5.03 pounds, while the girl, named Vivienne Marcheline, weighed an even 5 pounds.
And you can toss aside the reports that Jolie was going to be induced on Tuesday. Her doctor confirmed to reporters that the babies were born via Cesarean section on Saturday night. The obstetrician did note that the C-section was planned for a later date, but was moved forward “for medical reasons” so that the babies could be born “in the best conditions.”
Reports say that Papa Pitt was at Jolie’s side during the delivery, which took place at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France. The hot mama checked into the facility a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the babies’ births.
“Everything is going well,” Jolie’s doctor told the dozens of news reporters that have been camped outside of the hospital since Jolie checked in. “The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well.”
The doctor also revealed that Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days before returning to the French estate she and Pitt are renting in the French hamlet of Correns.
No word if the Jolie-Pitt’s four other children–Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2—-will visit their new siblings at the hospital or wait until their parents bring them home later in the week.
