Used tennis balls are like pennies. They were once valued but are usually discarded. Once tennis balls go flat then they can’t really be used for tennis anymore. They can, however, be used for many other things. So whether you have tennis balls of your own or want to rescue some free tennis balls and put them to good use, you should be able to benefit from the following ideas.
You can reuse tennis balls:
In the dryer to prevent washed pillows from becoming lumpy and to fluffy up towels, comforters and down coats.
In your home to move heavy furniture without scratching the floor. Simply cut some tennis balls in half and place them under the feet or in the corners of the furniture before you move it.
On a walker or cane to prevent the device from slipping on precarious surfaces.
To hide small objects, such as jewelry or money. This is a great trick to use when you are staying in a hotel room or using a gym. Simply cut a slit in a tennis ball and insert whatever it is that you need to hide.
As a customer sander when you are sanding around curves. Just wrap the sandpaper around the tennis ball. It is just the right size to fit comfortably in your hand and be maneuvered with ease.
To remove oil from a swimming pool. If you float a few tennis balls in your backyard pool, they will naturally absorb all sorts of oil, from natural body oil to baby oil to hair oil. Replace the tennis balls every few weeks.
To give yourself a foot massage. Place a tennis ball on the floor and use your foot to roll it around. It will massage the sole of your foot quite nicely.
To help you open large-mouthed jars. Cut a tennis ball in half and use one of the halves to get a better grip on stubborn jars. it beats buying a rubber device at the store that does the same thing!
