I am pleased to be able to bring a touch of pink to the Photography blog. For past couple of weeks I have been writing about products designed to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. (For those of you who don’t know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.) But, those articles have only appeared in the Popular Culture and Travel blogs. Finally, there’s a product on the market that fits perfectly in this blog—-thanks to GE.
General Electric’s subsidiary, General Imaging has just unveiled a specially designed Breast Cancer Awareness digital camera, which will be available on the Home Shopping Network. Proceeds from the sale with go to fund efforts to fight breast cancer.
The limited edition GE H855 camera is available in either hot metallic pink or black. (Click here to see a picture of it.) Both models feature a permanent pink ribbon on the camera’s aluminum face. The H855 is a special-edition version of GE’s popular E850, which offers 8 megapixels of resolution, a 3-inch LCD screen, 5X zoom and a 28-mm equivalent wide-angle lens. The Breast Cancer Awareness camera also comes with the standard features found on nearly all GE cameras such as panorama stitching, face detection, red-eye removal, image stabilization and ISO 1600 sensitivity. The fashionably hip pink camera also offers movie mode, continuous-shot mode, and a variety of special scene modes.
The GE H855 will be offered exclusively on the Home Shopping Network during an October 20th broadcast. For every camera sold, Home Shopping Network will donate a portion of the proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In addition, if you purchase your pink camera during the October 20th broadcast you will receive a bonus gift—-a sleek black carrying case, as well as an exclusive software package from ArcSoft, including PrintCreations Greeting Card, PrintCreations Scrapbook, CD & DVD LabelMaker, DVD SlideShow, and PhotoImpression.
If you don’t own a digital camera or you are looking for the perfect holiday gift for that special person in your life (regardless of if they have been touched by breast cancer) I would highly recommend tuning into the Home Shopping Network on October 20th and purchasing one of these fabulous pink cameras.
