I am very excited to now be contributing to the housekeeping topic. I currently blog in the topics of parents (teens), fitness, home business and marriage. It almost seems natural to add in housekeeping.
Why? Because while I am a parent of teens, I enjoy working out, I work from home and am married…I still have a house to run and maintain.
It is one of the most important things that I do as a wife and mom. I truly do consider myself to be the “Queen” of my home.
For me, housekeeping is very important. I feel much more at rest when everything is in order. Mind you, I’m not saying when everything is perfect. But I definitely like to keep things clean on the surface level and as clean as I can get at a deeper level. I also believe in everything having its place.
Housekeeping is a dread for many people. And while it’s not my first choice in how I would spend my time, I do find satisfaction in keeping a nice home.
I think that one of the reasons some people don’t like housekeeping is because they don’t know where to start. They may feel overwhelmed by the state of their home and the idea of trying to implement any change is just too much. Hopefully I can address some of these issues in upcoming blogs.
But I also think that others are not utilizing the proper resources and tools. There are ways that housekeeping can be made easier. There are products available that can in some cases, literally take the work out of housekeeping.
Finally, housekeeping is really not meant to be something that just one person is responsible for in a family. I believe that everyone who lives in a home should contribute to housekeeping. Will that mean that some members of a family might do more than another? Yes, I think that will be the case and it will depend on a number of factors.
Again, just something else I would like to address in future blogs. So hopefully this introductory blog from me will get you started on thinking a little more positively about housekeeping…until next time.
